More than twelve years ago, when we made the bold decision to hang our shingle and open the very first Galvan Real Estate office in the sleepy coastal gem of Lo de Marcos, it felt like leaping off a cliff with nothing but faith beneath us. There wasn’t a single other real estate agency for miles, and truthfully, properties were moving about as fast as a sea turtle on a siesta. Yet something magical stirred in our hearts: we saw the breathtaking potential of this enchanting village, not only as a canvas for extraordinary real estate opportunities but as a place that could nurture a genuine, tight-knit sense of family and community. So, with courage in our chests and dreams in our eyes, we planted our roots deep into this beautiful soil.
From the very beginning, we committed to something far greater than simply selling homes. We poured love, energy, and resources into creating vibrant public events that would put Lo de Marcos on the map, draw visitors from near and far, shine a spotlight on our incredible local merchants, and celebrate the irresistible charm of our town.
What started as a hopeful spark has blossomed into beloved annual traditions: the mouthwatering Taste of Lo de Marcos, the fiercely competitive (and deliciously spicy) Chili Cook-Off, the heart-pumping 5K Fun Run along our stunning coastline, and even, in years past, a glamorous Fashion Show that turned heads and raised smiles.
At every single event, we open our arms wide to local artisans, restaurants, and entrepreneurs, helping them showcase their talents, grow their brands, and fill their pockets—both on the big day and for seasons to come. Every peso raised through these cherished gatherings flows straight back into the heart of our community through our Giving Tree Program, touching lives, supporting families, and making Lo de Marcos an even brighter place to call home.
Over the years, a handful of other agencies have tiptoed into town, tested the waters, and quietly slipped away without ever truly disturbing the harmony we’d so carefully cultivated. But this December—well, the universe clearly has a sense of humor—two, yes TWO, brand-new real estate offices have opened their doors.
One is literally next door to where we opened our new office at Calle Allende 32, and the other sits just across the street from our long time office of many years, basking in the very footprint we pioneered.
How does that make me feel? A swirling cocktail of emotions, if I’m honest. A little surprised, a touch nostalgic, and—if I dig deep—genuinely flattered. Flattered that, together, we have built something so solid, so vibrant, and so undeniably sustainable that others now see the same golden opportunity we saw over a decade ago.
Flattered that they’ve chosen to set up camp in the slipstream of the goodwill, reputation, and foot traffic that Galvan Real Estate has lovingly nurtured all these years.Yet rather than rattle us, this friendly new competition only lights a fire beneath us.
It’s a beautiful reminder to sharpen our edge, elevate our already exceptional service, fine-tune our marketing magic, and reach even further with creativity, integrity, and heart.
We are immensely proud that Galvan Real Estate now provides meaningful, year-round employment to more than 30 wonderful neighbors—moms, dads, sons, and daughters who live right here in our pueblo. Nearly every peso we pay in salaries circles right back into our local shops, restaurants, schools, and services, keeping the lifeblood of Lo de Marcos strong and flowing.
So here is my heartfelt promise—to myself, to my extraordinary team, and to every person who has believed in us along the way: In 2026 and far beyond, we will not just meet the moment; we will soar beyond our wildest expectations.
We will continue to serve with passion, innovate with joy, and lead with the same pioneering spirit that brought us here in the first place. Because Lo de Marcos isn’t just where we work.

Hace más de doce años, cuando tomamos la valiente decisión de colgar nuestro letrero y abrir la primera oficina de Galvan Real Estate en la tranquila joya costera de Lo de Marcos, se sintió como saltar de un acantilado con nada más que fe debajo de nosotros.
No había ni una sola agencia inmobiliaria en kilómetros a la redonda, y, para ser honestos, las propiedades se movían tan rápido como una tortuga marina en siesta.
Sin embargo, algo mágico se agitaba en nuestros corazones: vimos el potencial impresionante de este encantador pueblo, no solo como un lienzo para oportunidades inmobiliarias extraordinarias, sino como un lugar que podía nutrir un sentido genuino y unido de familia y comunidad.
Así que, con coraje en el pecho y sueños en los ojos, plantamos nuestras raíces profundas en esta hermosa tierra. Desde el principio, nos comprometimos con algo mucho mayor que simplemente vender casas.
Derramamos amor, energía y recursos en la creación de eventos públicos vibrantes que pondrían a Lo de Marcos en el mapa, atraerían visitantes de cerca y de lejos, destacarían a nuestros increíbles comerciantes locales y celebrarían el encanto irresistible de nuestro pueblo. A lo largo de los años, un puñado de otras agencias han entrado de puntillas en el pueblo, probado las aguas y se han escabullido silenciosamente sin perturbar jamás la armonía que habíamos cultivado con tanto cuidado. Pero este diciembre —bueno, el universo claramente tiene sentido del humor— dos, sí DOS, oficinas inmobiliarias completamente nuevas han abierto sus puertas. Una está literalmente al lado de donde abrimos nuestra nueva oficina en Calle Allende 32, y la otra se encuentra justo enfrente de nuestra oficina de tantos años, disfrutando del mismo espacio que nosotros pioneramente abrimos.
¿Cómo me hace sentir eso? Una mezcla de emociones, si soy honesto. Un poco sorprendido, un toque nostálgico y —si profundizo— genuinamente halagado. Halagado de que, juntos, hayamos construido algo tan sólido, tan vibrante y tan innegablemente sostenible que otros ahora ven la misma oportunidad dorada que nosotros vimos hace más de una década. Halagado de que hayan elegido instalarse en la estela de la buena voluntad, la reputación y el tráfico peatonal que Galvan Real Estate ha cultivado con amor todos estos años. Sin embargo, en lugar de inquietarnos, esta nueva competencia amistosa solo enciende un fuego bajo nosotros.
Es un hermoso recordatorio para afilar nuestro filo, elevar nuestro servicio ya excepcional, ajustar nuestra magia de marketing y llegar aún más lejos con creatividad, integridad y corazón.
