The tiny town of Platanitos and the area to the north are known for a regional dish called “Pescado sarandeado,” a slow-smoked mesquite-grilled whole fish topped with a mayonnaise based sauce. It’s a dish you definitely won’t want to miss!

Platanitos is a small beach town in the Mexican state of Nayarit.

It is located about 20 miles south of San Blas and a few miles from the beach Playa las Tortugas, which means turtle beach. With its restaurants, small hotels, and warm waters, Platanitos brings thousands of tourists each year. It is popular with intermediate surfers for its sand bottom river mouth break and northwesterly swell. More advanced surfers prefer Caleta, which is accessible only by boat.

If you’re looking for a place to relax and some traditional Mexican cuisine, you’ve come to the right place. Playa Platanitos is a picturesque hidden cove located just north of Playa Las Tortugas, making it a fun, quick walk up the beach. Its tranquil waters and pristine beaches make it a destination hot spot for all ages. Swimming and wading are also a favorite due to the gentle waves formed from the protected cove.

Platanitos is also the gateway to the exclusive Punta el Custodio Community.   You can read more about the community here — https://www.galvanrealestateandservices.com/punta-el-custodio-platanitos/
