A Community Kitchen is opening in Lo de Marcos

The Covid 19 virus has hit home in Lo de Marcos for many it seems.

The closure of stores, layoffs and terminations have left many more hungry mouths to feed.

We already have an active Food Bank program in town that has increased their dispensas to help those in need. Jacque Graff heads up the food bank and can be reached here [email protected]

In addition to the established Food Bank, we are announcing the opening of a Community Kitchen, where everyone in need is welcomed in for one home-cooked, well-balanced meal each day.

The Community Kitchen program was put together by the team of locals who are monitoring our entries into the Pueblo to keep us safe.

They noted, that the Community Kitchen will extend to a newly created portion of our towns residents that have not previously been identified as in need.

The Kitchen is located on the front patio of Layo’s house at Emiliano Zapata #14 and will open April 15th and stay open until this crisis is behind us.

Each day the meal will change but promises to be well balanced and tasty too!

All meals will be served at no cost.

The Community Kitchen program reached out to Galvan Real Estate yesterday with a plea for our help and cooperation. They also requested that we reach out to our friends with a donation request.

You can send a Paypal donation of any amount to [email protected] and I will then transfer those donations to my account in Mexico so I can pull out the cash and give it to the programs coordinators.

For obvious reasons we are trying to keep ourselves all safe and isolated so, a cash donation is not really the best option.

I know this is a difficult time for many of us and any help that you can give is appreciated.
