Lo de Marcos – Plant a tree Initiative

In celebration of #EarthDay2021 Galvan has decided to donate fruit trees to the town of Lo de Marco.

It has been hard for Galvan Real Estate and Services to lay low this last year and not take an overly active role in contributing to Lo de Marcos and adding to its character and charm.

Next Season we hope that all of our events including our weekly Tianguis will be able to return.

This year we decided that one way we could support the town while remaining socially distant was to beautify the town by planting trees.  We thought palm trees throughout the town were a great idea.

When we called on Santos Cruz Garcia, a respected town resident, for his thoughts, he said “It’s a terrific idea, but go with fruit trees.”

Fruit Trees will provide shade and be great for the environment and eventually will be bear fruit.

Trees and shrubs improve soil and water conservation, store carbon, moderate local climate by providing shade, regulate temperature extremes, increase wildlife habitat and improve the land’s capacity to adapt to climate change. These are all benefits forests and shrubs offer the environment and in turn, us.

Town Residents will be notified when the trees will be delivered so that they can come over to make their selection to take home and plant.

We can all do our part and create the difference.

Galvan’s goal is to make 50 available with the first distribution and then to distribute another 50 in June.
