Tepic is the capital of Nayarit. It is the largest and most populated city in this state, making it the center of attention for Nayarit tourism.

The beauty is mixed with the hills of the Sierra Madre Occidental between crops of cane, corn, chili, mango, banana, or coffee that frame the beautiful colonial architecture that surrounds it inviting you to take long walks between the old large houses of the haciendas that are still standing, its squares with historical airs or its monuments that reveal why Tepic became the capital of the kingdom of New Galicia.

Despite being a small city, Tepic offers that air of tranquility like few others on the map thanks to its pleasant climate and streets where you can live the traditions that come from a rich legacy, a heritage of indigenous peoples such as the Coras and Huicholes

Tepic is a major destination for shoppers with a Major Shopping mall called the Forum, Sam’s Club, and a plethora of other stores and small shops.

La Catedral de la Purísima Concepción (The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception), a religious church with a splendid facade, has become one of the most emblematic sites in Tepic, as well as the government palace, a neoclassical building located in the old penitentiary. Also visit its Plaza de Armas, where you will find the oldest buildings from the 16th century.

One of the best months to admire Tepic in all its splendor is in March when the Feria Nacional de Tepic (National Tepic Fair) takes place, a popular festival with diverse cultural events and harvest of Huichol crafts such as “ Los Ojos de Dios” (the eyes of God).
