Each year as the event grows in popularity the coordination becomes more of a challenge. This year we were rejected by a lot of the local restaurants with statements like “We don’t have the staff to handle an outside event” or even “We are just too busy”. While this was not good news for the event organizers it is a good sign for the Pueblo in general. As a result, my team had to look a little harder to find restaurants that could participate and gain exposure for themselves.
In total, we had 13 participating restaurants who together generated just over $56,000.00 In food and beverage sales – which is fantastic!
All of the food I tried or heard about was good.
These three restaurants all stood out for different reasons and I think you should give them a try. Make sure you tell them you read about them here.
**Il Piacere – Alessandro is a good Chef and a good friend who has just opened in his new location at Luis Echeverría 45, yet he made the time to participate in the Taste. 
**Teiwari Restaurant is located in town at Emiliano Zapata 85.
**WB Sushi – Was a complete hit at the event. For most of the afternoon, the lines were long with Sushi lovers wanted a plate.
With no physical restaurant the food is to go only.

The entertainment was all local and all first notch!
The Casa de los Ninos Ballet was a pleasure to experience and I cannot wait to see them perform again. If you are given the chance to see this talented group of performers, please do. You will not regret it!
Finally, I would like to give a super special shout out to Galvan’s own Director of Operations, Karen Contreras. In addition to her more than active job duties, the direction and coordination of our 3 annual fundraising events has fallen to her. While we all play a part, however, she is the maestro that pulls it all together.
This annual Fundraiser for Citizens Action Committee has become THE Party of the Season in the North Bay and on behalf of the Event Organizers and Beneficiaries here’s a shout out a big Thank You to all of you who support this event.
