Covid 19 update from Lo de Marcos

The beaches are closed, the streets near empty, and non-residents are being turned away and denied access to town in many of the Pueblos here in Riviera Nayarit. It sort of surreal!

While the front door of The Galvan Office may be closed, it’s still business as usual for us. We are all working remotely and attending to our clients online and over the phone.

We continue to receive emails from potential Buyer and Sellers. In fact this week, we have taken one new listing on a lot for sale one block to the beach in Lo de Marcos for $195,000.00 USD.

In the Pueblo its quiet with all exception being those business deemed as essential such as Grocery Stores, Laundry mats, and pharmacies, which are allowed to be open.

The Residents are pulling together in a variety of incredible ways to make it thru and support each other. Restaurants who are closed to the public are delivering tasty meals, residents are sharing and selling fresh baked items and crafts, the food bank increased its monthly deliveries and the online sharing of funny jokes and memes keep our spirits lifted.

A sense of cabin fever has sunk in at a few places as we all strain with the confines of our houses no matter the size.

It’s a time of introspect for many of us with this unplanned down time. I for one am finally going to purchase that BBQ I have wanted for a while so that meal preparation take a different spin as Summer approaches.

The Pueblo of Lo de Marcos is like every other community learning day by day what to do and not to do at this time. We are a resilient group to say the least and look forward to leading a less restricted lifestyle and of course to seeing you all next season.

For those of you missing the Pueblo, here is a great read — https://www.galvanrealestateandservices.com/experience-the-mexico-of-10-years-ago-today-in-lo-de-marcos/

My personal best regards to each of you!

A very realistic look at our town today…. quiet, but not despair… so many folks quietly working to keep the community together and keep it safe. Thank you for all you do… and I hope you get that BBQ together. We’ll be over to help reap the benefits 😉

Any new updates on when the town plans to reopen? We are hoping to visit before the end of summer. What do you think the chances of that are?

Hello Steve, it is still a little too early to confirm a certain date but we are hoping to have a great Summer for visitors too.
We will keep you all posted with the updates.
