Lo de Marcos is undoubtedly a small paradise disguised as a town. It is this quaint yet appealing allure that compelled us to make the decision to form our company here that much more simple. From the get-go, we knew the potential this coastal village had, and since we opened our offices in February 2013, we have never looked back. Every day we strive to better ourselves as an enterprise that cares about the Community and we are well aware that part of the success of our business has been due to the support from all of the wonderful people in this town.
At Galván Real Estate & Services, we recognize that a company is only as strong as its staff. For this reason, we make it our goal to hire locals and thus create a symbiosis where these workers inject their talents and abilities into Galván, and we give back to the community that embraced us wholeheartedly. We also love to strengthen our bond with the town as a whole by creating social programs, spearheading innovative events, and engaging in economic endeavors that benefit the town, all while using our resources and platform to spread our love and knowledge of this beautiful village with the world.
GRE is honored to have employees working with us from the some of the most prominent, founding families of this Mexican paraíso helping at every level of operations of this company. We are proud that we hire only the best, and the best, the majority of the time, is local. They say lightning doesn’t strike in the same place twice, but at GRE it did, multiple times. Working for us we have some of the most talented and driven young people this town has to offer, and we are grateful we established a precedent to comb the village first to fill jobs at GRE. Slowly but surely, our staff has grown to include a majority of Lo de Marcos natives. We are delighted that our business is synonymous with opportunity and growth for the town of Lo de Marcos and its people.
Galván Real Estate & Services is the only full service Real Estate Company in Lo de Marcos with Real Estate Sales and Rentals as well as Property and Project Management. Our goal is to aid in the continued growth of this village, and we are committed to Lo de Marcos and will continue to be until we rival our neighboring towns by offering all our visitors and locals all they can need while still staying true to our roots. We will remain strong by having in our midst, driven, hard-working locals that have a personal interest in seeing this coastal paradise thrive. Galván gives to the community in many ways. Not only does GRE play a huge role in the promotion of this town and all the beauty it offers, but we have also pioneered an Artisanal & Cultural Center that hosts local and unique vendors of one-of-a-kind product from all of Mexico. We are also responsible for the very popular, now traditional, annual food fair, Taste of Lo de Marcos, where we showcase the gastronomy, ranging from casual to 5 stars, of the village’s restaurants. Part of the proceeds every year go to the Citizen Action Committee, the governing body responsible for the town’s government and religious holidays, and to the Civil Association Amigos de Lo de Marcos, which is the group responsible for the funding for many of the non-profit projects to better this beautiful town. It is for this reason that we are very proud that our very own Armando Contreras Galván, Broker for Galván Real Estate & Services, is the President for the Amigos group. His direct involvement with the group insures that much more that Galván and its staff play a key role in the progress and betterment of the town year round. We also have to mention our Annual Chili Cookoff, which started as an idea that has now become a yearly event that many look forward to and that brings out community together. And in the same manner The Taste of Lo de Marcos, and Chili Cookoff was brought into fruition, Galván is constantly thinking of new events to bring the community together and showcase the many talents of the people that compose the town.
In our efforts to showcase this talent and further solidify the bond we have with our locals, we have also started our Scholarship Program with the group CIENI, which is a center that teaches people the English language. At Galván we have bilinguals and polyglots in our staff, and it is this understanding of good communication that compelled us to give these becas to the deserving and thus be another stepping-stone in their road to success. The success of one town local, is the success of us all.
It is this sense of social responsibility that propels our desire to be supportive of each of the Communities in which we live and have offices. Since our inception, we have made it our mission not only to promote Lo de Marcos and the Riviera Nayarit on a world scale while simultaneously aiding in the preservation of all the things that make this part of the world so special, but we strive to protect and help our small slice of paradise so it can reach its full potential with dignity and respect. For this reason, apart from always hiring locally, we offer a higher level of pay so that the locals stay local and don’t see the need to leave our Pueblos in search of a living wage; we adhere to ethical labor practices; we re-invest financially in our communities, and we donate monies to community development projects. Our commitment is clear and we will always do our best to be an intrepid champion for the town we so much love.
As we mentioned earlier, our village is a paradise, and everybody at Galván will work diligently to protect the gem that is Lo de Marcos and Riviera Nayarit. By keeping extraordinary people as the heart and soul of our business, and by fortifying our bonds with the wonderful people that compose this town through social and economic support, we hope we will be a local business with longevity and one that leaves a positive mark. In a pueblo where many businesses of many natures, including other Realtors, have come and gone, GRE is still standing strong. We will continue to do so fueled by the drive we summon from the respect and love we have for this town and its’ people; a population we will always support.
